Description

During this tour, you and your children will discover the little secrets that Rome hides in its squares and fountains. The tour is almost completely held outdoor. We start from the Spanish Steps, and then go towards the famous Trevi Fountain, which has been recently restored. Then we will head to the Campo Marzio (Field of Mars), the heart of the city, whose name derives from the presence in ancient Rome of an altar dedicated to Mars, the god of war. It is here that Roman soldiers were trained and that ancient Romans voted. In this area, we will follow the trail of Isis, the Egyptian goddess of life and magic, to whom the Romans dedicated a temple. We will stop at the church of Saint Ignatius to admire one of the most ingenious domes of Rome, and then at the Pantheon, where we will discover the reason for that big opening in the middle of the dome. From here we will continue toward Piazza Navona where your children will learn about the rivalry between 2 great artists in 16th-century Rome, Bernini and Borromini, and about the legends that the Romans invented about this rivalry. During the tour, of course, we will be sure to show you some of the best places for ice cream as nobody can leave Rome without tasting some true Italian “gelato”!
